Here Is The Halodrol Prohormone Review

Halodrol has been a favorite for muscle-building since 2005. It’s gone through a change or two, but Halodrol still maintains its popularity. Is this a safe and effective prohormone for growth? Let’s find out in our Halodrol review.

Halodrol is one of the most popular and powerful muscle-building compounds on the market. From its original formula that was classified as an anabolic steroid to its reformulation and subsequent prohormone status, Halodrol continues to be a go-to supplement for bodybuilders and muscle-bound lifters.

Is Halodrol all that it’s cracked up to be? Does the new formula hold weight against the original? Do the side effects outweigh the potential benefits? Let’s explore this supplement more by first answering the question, “What is Halodrol?”

What is Halodrol?

There are two types of Halodrol (4-chloro-17α-methylandrost-1,4-diene-3β,17β-diol) or Hdrol: the original formula from Gaspari Nutrition, and the post-2014 prohormone-ban formula with the label of Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals.

The original Halodrol was incredibly popular in 2005 and 2006 when it was first released. As a derivative of testosterone, Halodrol is a 17α-alkylated anabolic steroid that was often compared to Turinabol, another anabolic steroid. Due to its extreme anabolic properties, Halodrol quickly caught the attention of weightlifters, bodybuilders, and the Food and Drug Administration, which discontinued it.

While the original formula was discontinued, a resurging interest in Halodrol began again after the prohormone ban of 2014. The supplement was reformulated and rebranded from Gaspari Nutrition to Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals. When looking for Halodrol for sale, make sure the packaging has the new Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals logo.

The new formula of Halodrol walks a very fine line as far as legality since most prohormones were banned. It contains 1-Androsterone, 4-Androsterone, Androsterone, Androstenolone Acetate (DHEA), and Rhaponticum carthamoides Extract.

We’ll dive into each ingredient below, breaking down the potential benefits such as enhanced protein synthesis and increased testosterone, and Halodrol side effects.

How Does Halodrol Work?

Like most prohormones, Halodrol contains ingredients that will convert to far more powerful anabolic compounds once they pass through the liver. This is how most prohormones can squeeze by issues of legality: they technically are not steroids; however, once ingested and processed by the liver, they acquire the necessary enzyme to become a steroidal counterpart.

Dosage and Cycles

The original Halodrol dosage was between 50 mg. and 100 mg. per day depending on experience, tolerance, and goals. But the new Halodrol formula comes as a proprietary blend at 250 mg per tablet so you never know exactly how much of each ingredient you’re getting.

You’ll want to take one serving of Halodrol 30 minutes before training and on rest days, you can take it in the afternoon. You should not take more than what is directed because the higher the dosage, the greater the risk for Halodrol side effects.

A typical Halodrol cycle will last four weeks. Some more experienced users will be able to go six weeks, but you don’t want to go past this as Halodrol is liver toxic.

Once you finish your Halodrol cycle, you must use a post-cycle therapy supplement in order to mitigate the damage to the liver and kidneys.

What is Gaspari Halodrol?
The Gaspari Halodrol is deemed as such because the original manufacturer was Gaspari Nutrition. One of the veteran supplement companies in the industry, the owner is Rich Gaspari, a famous bodybuilder recognized by the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) and Fitness Hall of Fame.

There has been a lot of back and forth with Gaspari Nutrition, as they paired with Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals (another nutrition company, NOT a pharmacy) and then struggled with co-ownership. Both companies are still around (as of writing this article).

The most recent update is that in 2018, Rich Gaspari, the original founder, bought out Jared Wheat’s (Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals) share in Gaspari Nutrition, restoring his complete ownership.

Benefits of Hdrol
The benefits of Hdrol are usually based on Halodrol reviews, but there are a handful of studies that examine the effect of each individual ingredient. Let’s take a look at each ingredient in the new formula to determine whether Halodrol is all hype:

1-Androsterone: Also referred to as 1-DHEA, 1-Andro is converted in the body as 1-Testosterone, an anabolic compound that may support muscle building. Studies suggest that 1-Andro is effective for improving body composition in the way of bigger muscles, but at the cost of your health, especially when it comes to your liver.

4-Androsterone: Also known as 4-AD, this prohormone increases testosterone in the body to promote that androgenic and anabolic environment for muscle growth. One research review found that manufacturer claims of enhanced testosterone, muscle building, and sexual performance were unfounded. Researchers also pointed out the prevalence of estrogen-based side effects when using prohormones like 4-Andro.

Androsterone: Found in natural pine pollen, Androsterone is converted into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is more androgenic than testosterone. Theoretically, this could help with building strength, muscle growth, and recovery. But there’s a catch, studies show that increased levels of DHT are associated with balding.

Androstenolone Acetate (DHEA): Considered an ester of Androstenolone, this prohormone is converted into 1-Testosterone and it may promote muscle building and strength gains.

Rhaponticum Carthamoides Extract: This herbal remedy has long been used as a traditional remedy for sexual performance, but users report that it can also improve strength and muscle building via increased protein synthesis. Research seems to back this up as one study compared the anabolic capacity of the herbal remedy to Dianabol.

What Are the Side Effects?
It’s no surprise that Halodrol comes with a number of side effects; this is common and expected with all prohormones. Here are the most common side effects found in Halodrol reviews from users.

Liver and Kidney Health: Your liver and kidneys have to process five separate prohormone ingredients, creating a great deal of stress on these organs. What’s more, certain ingredients in Halodrol (1-Andro and 4-Andro) are considered liver toxic, which means the continued use of the supplement at high doses may cause damage.

Cardiovascular Stress: Users of Halodrol may notice a boost in blood pressure as this prohormone has been cited as promoting cardiovascular stress. Long-term use of Halodrol may negatively impact the performance and health of your heart.

Estrogen Levels: When you artificially spike your testosterone levels, your body becomes dependent on the supplement and stops producing the hormone on its own. Once you finish your cycle, natural test levels drop and estrogen levels rise. Studies show there is a big concern with using prohormones and experiencing estrogen-based side effects.

Male Pattern Balding: As mentioned above, when dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels rise, the risk for male pattern baldness also increases. Users have long reported issues with hair loss when using Halodrol.

Recommended Alternatives

If your goal is to build as much muscle as possible, why risk losing all those hard-earned gains to a boost in estrogen levels and liver toxicity?

Legal steroids are one of the best ways to support your goals of muscle building without worrying about the horrible side effects. Here are three products that we highly recommend; all three contain proven ingredients to support your goals of bulking and muscle building:

D-Bal: This amino acid-infused muscle builder contains a variety of vitamins, minerals, and herbal remedies that have been shown to boost muscle growth including Ashwagandha and Tribulus Terrestris.

Trenorol: This is a legal steroid that contains Beta-Sitosterol, a plant sterol that can increase muscle mass; Samento Inner Bark, and Nettle Leaf Extract, an extract for testosterone and libido.

DecaDuro: Great for performance and recovery, DecaDuro can help to promote protein synthesis, nitrogen retention, and red blood cell production.

Halodrol: Not Worth the Risks

It might be packed with five hard-hitting prohormones, but when you look at the pros and cons, Halodrol isn’t worth the risk. Any gains you might see are accompanied by a variety of side effects. Worst of all, you’re not going to keep those gains, and you might lose more than you bargain for as your testosterone levels plummet. Go natural, lift heavy, and stay consistent to see true muscle-building results.
